This last week was such an amazing time for the West Coast Events crew! If you haven’t seen the new hit movie London Has Fallen you need to grab yourself a ticket and a big bag of popcorn or.. possibly some fish and chips? After the successful premiere on March 4th, one of our favorite spots, Boulevard 3, hosted the after-party. We had the privilege to work along side them and create a British inspired menu for all the guests!
When you think of British food what comes to mind? Other than the obvious choice of fish and chips! West Coast Events created a menu that included a variety of tray-passed dishes as well as a Grab & Go station where guests could pick up their own individual servings without having to deal with the inconvenience of carrying a plate around or finding a seat. The Grab & Go is becoming a popular concept for parties in LA because most of the guests are out and about socializing and this makes it so much easier to do so!
Our British inspired menu included tray-passed appetizers to bring to guests who were not near the food station. We had our servers passing pigs in a blanket with a delicious honey mustard sauce, mini kobe beef sliders with caramelized onions, wonton ahi tuna tacos with avocado puree and caviar, caramelized and savory mushroom tartlets with crumbled stilton cheese, and lastly the ever so popular chicken and waffles with a maple gravy. You can’t even imagine how many mini waffles we had to make that day! But the smell and taste of them was irresistible.
At the Grab & Go station the biggest hit was the of course the fish and chips! But this wasn’t your traditional fish and chips. Instead of just using simple fries, the tempura fried fish was served along side salt and vinegar potato chips and purple terra chips to give it an extra crunch and pop of color! Also served at the Grab & Go station was a selection of three types of salads including a Chinese chicken salad, a walnut and apple stilton cheese salad, and an orzo salad with feta, tomatoes and onions. Lastly, no one can say no to our 22-hour braised short-rib. This is always a hit at any party or event we cater! The short ribs are paired with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and an addicting secret sauce. You wouldn’t believe how quickly these disappear from the table.
Our staff had such an amazing time creating the food for the premier as well as serving all of the guests who attended! The girls all looked beautiful wearing the West Coast Events uniform and of course the boys looked smashing as well. We celebrated at the end by gathering together and taking a big group picture. This party was one for the books!
